At the Department of Mineralogy and Petrology, students are actively engaged in scientific activities. Creative scientific work with students of the Geological faculty begins at the first year and continues to graduation. Under the guidance of the department teaches, students participate in research dedicated to the study the composition of ores and host rocks of the region. The results of these studies are  reported at student conferences of differentl scale.
